Only 11 of the total 30,098 persons recruited for various government postings by Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) were from outside Tamil Nadu, an official release stated on Monday.
According to TNPSC secretary, the Commission has been recruiting government servants under the existing rules since 1955 and as per the provisions of Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act, 2016.
Since candidates from outside the State are considered only under the General Category, it does not affect the reserved seats for those in Tamil Nadu, it stated and further observed that a similar procedure was being followed in other States too.
